Little Giant

Addie had her 2 year appointment today.  Everything went well and the doctor said she looks great and sounds like a normal 2 year old.  (As she said “no” about 1000 times when he was trying to look at her!)

She weighed a whopping 23lbs 6oz (15%) and was 33″ (30%) tall.  Which means she is finally too tall for her infant seat so we’ll have to get another car seat for Adam’s car.  When I got that infant seat I knew we’d be able to use it longer than most infant seats but I wasn’t really expecting to use it for 2 years!

3 weeks

Just 3 weeks to our “big ultrasound!”  We’ve got it scheduled for April 20th at 3:30 in the afternoon.

I’m pretty excited!

Midwife Appointment

I finally had my first appointment with my midwife group!  Apparently when I requested my records be sent from my old OB/GYN to the midwives I should have requested they not send them via snail mail (and I mean literally attaching them to a snail and sending him on his way to Chapel Hill).

Anyways, it was FANTASTIC!  The front desk people have been super helpful during the whole “where are your records?” fiasco and sooo sooo nice!  The lady who I’ve spoken with the most was even really excited to finally meet me when I was in today.   :)

The midwife I saw today was Meg, apparently she is the newest of the 6 in the office.  She was really sweet, asked me about my labor/delivery experience with Addie and honestly seemed empathetic when I explained everything.  She kept saying how cute Addie was and talked to her throughout the whole thing.

We heard the baby’s heartbeat and it was between 150 and 160.  So, for those of you who subscribe to the heart rate can determine sex old wives tale, this is another girl.  :)   According to the “theory” under 140 is a boy and over is a girl.

On my ultrasound sheet she noted that I am measuring small for the baby’s gestational age but she didn’t mention it to me and she isn’t requesting an early ultrasound so I assume it is nothing to be concerned about.  We’ll schedule the ultrasound for sometime at the end of April and then a week later I’ll have my next appointment with the midwives.

I am so happy that I switched….again!  lol

Water running

Kristen, Addie and I went over to Durant Nature park on Saturday. I brought my E-Maxx so I could run it on the trail. This particular trail happens to run right next to a nice creek. It’s a good thing my E-Maxx is waterproof! Take a look at the pictures:

It was really fun! The water was pretty deep in places. In retrospec I probably should have avoided those areas. Everything still works fine, so it all worked out in the end. I wish I had cut some holes in the tires first though, so I didn’t bring ten gallons of creek water back to the house. I think its all dried out now though.

Goodnight

Tonight Addie is sleeping with Meme, Bebe, baby, little baby, 2 monkeys, a hippo, 2 dogs, a kitty, a bear, Elmo and a turtle. lol and she still fit in her bed! :)
