Haha…now you have to even if you don’t really want to because if you don’t you’ll spend all day wondering what it was and if it was really that gross.
Saturday afternoon we were all hanging out – I was in the kitchen, Addie was sitting at the table, Piper had scooted into the kitchen from the living room, and Adam was wandering in and out. On one pass past Piper he happened to notice something on the floor that he assumed was play-dough and picked it up before Piper had the opportunity to put it in her mouth. He carried the “play-dough” to the counter, set it down and said “what is it?” and I leaned over and took a look when he said “It’s moving!” Yeah, it was definitely not play-dough. He flipped whatever it was over and I think we both knew what it was but neither of us wanted to admit what it was because it was soooooo gross! Aside from how disgusting it was on its own, it was right next to Piper! She could have picked it up and eaten it!!! Bleh!
Oh…you want to know what it was? Don’t worry, I took pictures for you.

Know what it is?
It’s a tick! A big, fat, bloated, gross, icky, tick! Ticks really don’t bother me. In general they are a minor nuisance but not something that typically makes my skin crawl…until I met this one. I’ve had a million ticks on me, I’ve found them everywhere from my toes to my hair, I’ve been bitten by them on several occasions, in fact I just pulled one off my leg a week ago, but I have never seen one this gross.
We assume it was on the dog because to assume anything else makes this whole thing even worse. She is on flea and tick preventative but with her long hair we’re wondering if is doing much good. She is getting a haircut tomorrow. The other possibility is that it came in on her (or one of us) and made its way to a cat, feasted, and then fell onto the floor when it was full…very, very full.
Needless to say the entire floor got a thorough cleaning shortly after and this tick got a ride through the garbage disposal.
Told ya it was gross!
