All is well in baby land

Had my weekly midwife appointment today.  Everything looks great!  Apparently he/she is in the “perfect” position for labor and “really low.”  Heart rate was 160!  Probably thanks to the donut I ate for breakfast.  :)

They asked if I wanted to be checked and I asked her opinion and she basically said that she’d be happy to do it but that if I’m at 5cm she’s still sending me home since I’m not in labor and if I’m at 1cm but call an hour later with contractions she’ll still have me come in.  So I opted not to this week.

And my Group B Strep test was negative which is awesome, one less thing to worry about!

Update

This is a pretty boring update but I said I would so…

Baby’s heart rate was in the low to mid 140s.  He/she is head down and hopefully will stay that way since that’s where we’ve been for a long time now.  My blood pressure was 111/62 (with two kids crawling all over me and not sitting nice like the usually do!).  Had my group B strep test done today, I’ll find out the results of that next week.  Hopefully that’ll be negative (was with both girls).  Other than that nothing exciting to report.  :)

And an Addie story (because there is ALWAYS an Addie story)…

We went to our friends house to hang out for a bit this morning before my appointment and on our way there Addie asks, completely out of nowhere, “How do they catch chickens?”  I told her I thought they chase them and catch them with their hands and asked how she would catch a chicken.  She informed me that she would use a big net and put it over the chicken.  Alright, I think that would work too.  Then she says “But how do they keep them from running away when they are trying to cut off their heads and feet?”  Trying not to laugh I told her I thought they just held them down at which point she told me that she was pretty sure they used tape!

Looks like we’re not raising a vegetarian!

35/35

Today marks 35 weeks down, 35 days to go!  Sort of at least.  There is some debate about my actual due date so it depends on which one  you go with.  For my own sanity I use the latest one which puts me at 35/35.

Things have been going well so far.  I’m still seeing the midwives that I saw when I was pregnant with Piper.  It is totally worth the 45 minute drive for my appointments!  My next appointment is Wednesday the 22nd and after that I should be into weekly appointments.  Baby’s heart rate has been consistently in the low 140s for my past several appointments.  My blood pressure is always good, ankles have been missing since it started getting hot (ugh!), and baby seems to be in good position ready to go.  I’ve had a lot more braxton hicks this time around than with either of the girls.  The past few days have been brutal but that could just be because sitting down and taking it easy can be difficult with Thing 1 and Thing 2 running around.

We still have so much to do it isn’t even funny!  Get stuff down from the attic, pack bags, pick out names…Ah!  At least by #3 we’ve realized there isn’t much we NEED so not having everything done isn’t stressing me out at all.  Maybe it isn’t stressing me out enough.  :)

Since we did an expectnet game with Piper and I thought it was fun to see what you all thought we were having and how big he/she would be so I set up another one this time.  Feel free to make your guesses anytime between now and July 2nd when I’ll lock the game.  Go here to do it…http://www.expectnet.com/games/BabyGensler3

I think that’s all for now.  I’ll try to update again after Wednesday.
